L'agence de photographie Noor est basée à Amsterdam. Ce mois de mars, elle peut se féliciter du récent travail de quatre de ses photographes : Alixandra Fazzina, Nina Berman, Andrea Bruce et Stanley Greene se sont rendus au camps de réfugiés de Zaatari, situé à l'Est Jordanie, afin de documenter la vie quotidienne du lieu, et d'offrir aux réfugiés sur place des portraits de leurs proches, ou d'eux mêmes.
Ouvert en aout 2012 à Mafraq, le camp de Zaatari est désormais un véritable village, et le cinquième le plus important de Jordanie : 106 000 réfugiés Syriens sont des habitants du camps selon l'Agence des Nations-Unis pour les réfugiés ( UNHCR).

Last year our group project Consequences by NOOR - an eyewitness record of the effects of climate change around the globe - was launched during the UN climate summit in Copenhagen. As representatives and organizations from different countries are gathering again for this years summit in Cancun, we herewith proudly present our multi-year climate change group project: Solutions by NOOR. Produced this autumn with the participation of all ten NOOR photographers, we focused on human stories about alternative power sources, renewable energies and attempts to alleviate, adjust or cope with the rise of global temperatures. From September 23 to 28, the Visual Gallery will once again be presenting the best work of internationally known photographers as well as award-winning young artists at photokina, the world's leading fair for the photography and imaging industry. The event will feature a special reunion of sorts, as Thomas Höpker will display highlights from his distinguished career as a photojournalist. Höpker received two awards in photokina's "Jugend photographiert" (Young Imaging Days) competition back in the 1950s, when he was still in his early 20s. The soldiers in this book represent a small number of the 7,532 American soldiers who were wounded in action and the estimated 17,000 others injured in combat support during the first eighteen months of the U.S. invasion and occupation of Iraq.
These combat support or non-hostile injuries are omitted from the Pentagon casualty reports even though many of these soldiers medically evacuated from Iraq because of friendly fire, sickness, accidents and psychological trauma, are permanently damaged and disabled.
Iraqi casualties are not counted at all.
