- Vente

Ryan McGinley : Winter
Team (gallery, inc.) is pleased to announce a two-gallery show by New York-based artist Ryan McGinley, taking place at both our Grand Street and Venice Beach locations. Team (gallery, inc.) is located at 83 Grand Street, between Greene and Wooster, on the ground floor. Team (bungalow) is located at 306 Windward Avenue in Venice, CA. Concurrently, our 47 Wooster Street location will house an exhibition by Hong Kong-based artist Samson Young.
Over the years, Ryan McGinley's camera has become more a tool for invention than documentation, conjoining the corporeal, narrative aspects of photography and cinema with their more orphic qualities. His images hover deliriously between reality and utopian fiction, characterized as much by apparent authenticity as obvious impossibility. This shift is crystalized in his most rec... - Exposition
Exhibition « We Want More »: Image-Making and Music in the 21st Century
We Want More explores the role photography and image-production plays in defining music culture today.
Spurred by the advent of digital technologies, both industries have seen a significant change to the channels and processes for ownership and distribution. The traditional frameworks that once upheld a distance between photographers, fans, stars and their labels have collapsed to allow for new routes and territories in which music photography is produced, shared and consumed.

Exhibition : Photographs 1999-2015 by Ryan McGinley
Kunsthal KAdE’s new summer exhibition is a major overview of work by American photographer Ryan McGinley (b. 1977, New Jersey, US). The show will include works from every series and period in the photographer’s career, from the gritty snapshots of his early life in the urban underworld of late-1990s Manhattan right through to his recent, highly aesthetic ‘road movie’ photographs of young nudes shot amid the untamed nature of the rural United States.
Over the last 15 years, Ryan McGinley’s photographs have come to symbolise what is now known as the ‘hipster’ or ‘indie’ generation. Ryan McGinley came to adulthood in the late ’90s, in the then still unruly skateboard and graffiti culture of the Lower East Side area of New York’s Downtown Manhattan. He had ... - Exposition
OPEN RHAPSODY : a Journey into Photography and Video Collections
- Exposition
« Yearbook » of Ryan McGinley at Team Gallery
Yearbook is a single artwork that consists of over five hundred studio portraits of some two hundred models, always in the nude, printed on vinyl and adhered to every available inch of the gallery’s walls and ceilings. The installation’s effect is hugely impressive in its standalone visual power, an enveloping entity flooding the entire space with bold color and form. Although the sheer abundance of available images renders a total « reading » impossible, there is never any sense of incompleteness, as each individual image functions autonomously, granting the viewer access to a delicate, once-private moment.
The artist, who is primarily known for his outdoor photography, initially turned to the studio to establish a more classical context for himself and his models. He realized his desire to ex... - Exposition
Body Loud - Ryan MCGINLEY
- Exposition

Animals consists of McGinley's color studio portraits of live animals with nude models. The exhibition is his first made up exclusively of selections from this growing, and ambitious, body of work. The artist visited various sanctuaries, zoos, and rescue establishments across the United States, erecting a mobile studio wherever possible and working with a number of pre-eminent animal trainers. The animals are not mere props in photographs of people; on the contrary, McGinley considers them the subjects of these images. There exists bo... - Exposition

Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere - Ryan McGinley
Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere will run from the 18th of March through the 17th of April 2010. Team Gallery is located at 83 Grand Street, cross streets Wooster and Greene, on the ground floor.
For his latest exhibition, Ryan McGinley has shifted his focus away from constructing a youthful sublime within the boundless American landscape and has concentrated instead on creating imagery within the confines of his New York studio. The result is a surprisingly restrained, open-ended study of black and white portraiture. Here we see McGinley not as a chronicler of youthful adventure, but as an engine for an almost scientific cataloging of a kind of emotional optimism.
McGinley's portraits are the result of a meticulous studio practice, in which thousands of images are taken of each sitter; each shoot eventually being e... - Exposition
Ryan McGinley & Stanley Whitney Team Gallery at Miami Basel 2009
For this fair, the gallery has decided to show two artists from the program: photographer Ryan McGinley and painter Stanley Whitney.
McGinley will show vibrant images from his recent Moonmilk series - photographs taken deep underneath the earth's surface - along with brand new pieces from his most recent road trip. McGinley's new works are more studied depictions of the manner in which the nude can be represented within nature. Whitney's works, bright modules of painted color piled one on top of the other, aggressively overload the visual field with dynamic possibilities. Although Whitney has been exhibiting his abstract paintings for the past forty years, he is the most recent addition to the gallery's roster and this acts as our introduction of his work to the international art fair community.
