Voilà comment les messages des spammeurs commencent la plupart du temps. Une requête, un appel à l'aide, la promesse d'un héritage exhorbitant, tous les moyens sont bons pour attirer dans leurs filets les internautes qui ne sauraient pas discerner le faux du vrai.
Pour le projet Poly-Spam, la photographe espagnole Cristina de Middel a précautionneusement retranscrit le contenu des mails arrivés dans ses spams. Par la suite, elle a imaginé le visage de ceux qui se cachent derrière ces messages et a crée un scénario autour de chacun d'entre eux.

Après un parcours aux Beaux-Arts, Cristina de Middel étudie la photographie aux Etats-Unis, pour arriver enfin au photojournalisme, qu'elle apprend à Barcelone. Photojournaliste pendant presque 10 ans, elle décide, en janvier 2011, de faire des images selon ses propres désirs, de suivre ses envies photographiques. His mother had left him home alone and he had to run away escaping the bombs and the fire. He saved his life entering the Bush, this magical territory where no humans are allowed and where all the Yoruba spirits live and fight. Our kid spent 30 years lost in the Bush trying to find his way back home amongst the spirits and the dead. He got married two times, became a king, a god and a slave, a cow, a jar, a horse, a goat, ate gold, silver and bronze, snakes and snails, he fought 2 wars and was sentenced to death half a dozen times... all that in just 100 pages.

The Afronauts is based on a historical fact: in 1964 a Zambian science teacher named Edwuard Makuka decided to train the first African crew to travel to the moon. His plan was to use an aluminum rocket to put a woman, two cats and a missionary into Space. First the moon, then Mars, using a catapult system. He founded the Zambia National Academy of Science, Space Research and Astronomical Research to start training his Afronauts. Unfortunately his resources were not as big as his dream and, after Unesco had declined to support the project, the training and the dreaming had to stop.

Née en 1975 à Alicante, Cristina de Middel a étudié les Beaux-Arts à Valence et la photographie à Barcelone et Oklahoma City. Son travail a été récompensé par de nombreux prix, dont le Infinity Award de l'International Center of Photography pour la publication The Afronauts et a été sélectionnée pour le Deutsche Börse Photography Prize en 2013. Depuis plus de dix ans, elle travaille également comme photojournaliste pour des quotidiens et des magazines en Espagne et en Angleterre.

En 1964, la Zambie acquiert son rêve d’indépendance et lance un programme spatial qui devait permettre aux Africains de poser les pieds sur la lune. Ce programme devait permettre au pays de rejoindre les exploits des États-Unis et de l’Union Soviétique vers la conquête de l’espace. Seuls quelques optimistes ont soutenu le projet d’Edward Makuka, chercheur responsable du programme et chargé d’obtenir le soutien financier nécessaire.
