Considered as a European leading master of color, Lars Tunbjörk, a Swedish photographer and member of Agence VU', passed away at 59.
During most of his carreer, Lars Tunbjörk explored the world of colors, and all its slightest details. In his work, he questions social subjects, from the brutal and nightmarish working places to the unchanging and middle-class suburbian areas.
His photographic style soon becomes a reference, first in Sweden, then in foreign countries, with the publication of the book "Landet utom sig/The Country beside itself" in 1993. His dream to become a photographer started when he was a teenager. In 1970's, he discovered photos from Christer Strömholm. In 1982, he works as a journalist for the dailynewspaper Stockholms-Tidningen. He influenced quickly and strongly photojournalists of his country and abroad.
