En 1927, après deux années à l'académie d'art de Berlin, elle décide de rejoindre son père qui vit déjà à New York. Elle s'investit dans le mouvement lesbien, elle y rencontre Berenice Abbot. Les deux femmes deviennent amies. The exhibition "Nude Visions" is an introduction to the collection of photographs in the Münchner Stadtmuseum, showing a representative selection of images of the human body. The show starts with so-called "academies", plates used as models by artists like Delacroix and Courbet.
