Austrian-born photographer Mario Marino (1967) is a true globetrotter. 5 years ago, he surprised the world with a penetrating series of photographs of the people of Ethiopia’s Omo Valley. The ‘Cuba Mi Amor’ exhibition is his declaration of love for the Cuban capital of Havana.

In Havana, day-to-day life unfolds largely in its streets. Through his photos, Marino invites us into that life.
We can see their dreams and desires in the pictures. This is life in Havana as seen through Marino’s lens. He depicts the city as a ‘grande dame’. Sure, she’s an elderly, skinny but toned, lady and the marks of an intense life are clearly visible, but she’s not lost her grandeur and style, and she has certainly conquered Marino’s heart: Cuba Mi Amor.
