As part of the celebrations for its tenth anniversary, CENTRALE is proposing a unique exhibition inspired by the original identity of the location (a former power station). From 24 March 2016 onwards, CONNECTED will reveal itself as a surprising and unusual journey, a voyage actively involving the spectator across the unique worlds of twenty Belgian and international artists.Centrale For Contemporary Art Brussels Place Sainte-Catherine 44 1000 Bruxelles Belgique

With the support of Karine Lalieux, Deputy Mayor for Culture of the City of Brussels, CONNECTED proposes variations on the theme of the physical and psychic connection to artistic creation: machine bodies (Fritz Kahn, Wim Delvoye), existential implication (Orlan, Opalka, Stelarc), singular and psychedelic visions of the body (Lubos Plny, Jean Perdrizet, Henri Ughetto), virtual experiences and perceptions (N+N Corsino, Evi Keller, Alex Verhaest)….

A unique exhibition for which numerous installations have been specially produced, CONNECTED demonstrates the use of new technologies serving the visual arts. It has been conceived as a circuit inviting the public to immerse themselves in the installations and to interact with the new aesthetic forms stimulating the senses. Spectators are connected in turn with the machine bodies, captured by the creation of animated 3D images, interactive video sequences, choreographies on tablets,… which will turn their perception of contemporary art on its head.
