More than a decade ago, artist, photographer and Guggenheim Fellow Elinor Carucci added mother to her inventory of titles. The twins’ birth is a marker in terms of Carucci’s oeuvre; the event’s impact on her personal work is undeniable. In a first for the artist, "The Effect of Motherhood" explores the influence the children’s arrival also had on her editorial and commercial assignments.Condé Nast Gallery 1 World Trade Center, NY 10100 New York France

The integrated display presents newly printed work from her assignment archive alongside selections from "Mother", her most recent monograph (Prestel, 2014). Together, they show Carucci has reached a new constant in terms of in-depth, powerful and intimate portraiture. Curated by Shawn Waldron, Condé Nast’s Senior Director of Archives & Records, Elinor Carucci: "The Effect of Motherhood" is the Gallery’s first single artist exhibition.
