Sandrine Hermand-Grisel, artiste autodidacte, est née à Paris en 1973. Après plusieurs années passées à Londres elle rentre à Paris faire des études de droit international qu'elle abandonne en 1997 pour se consacrer entièrement à la photographie.
Influencée par les sculptures de sa mère et les expériences artistiques de son mari, elle se lance dans différents projets personnels dont ''Nocturnes'' qui obtient une mention spéciale au Prix de la Critique Photographique de Kodak présidé par Harry Gruyaert, Bertrand Desprès et John Batho. En 2006, elle part habiter à San Francisco avec sa famille et commence à photographier les paysages de son pays d'accueil.
Malgré la diversité de ses projets, Sandrine Hermand-Grisel a une approche unique, très intimiste avec ses sujets. Pour elle, la photo est une histoire d'amour qui va bien au delà du déclic: c'est son mode d'expression. Derrière chaque série se cache un indicible besoin de partager ses émotions, de s'évader de la réalité dans une vision poétique du monde.
En 2013, elle créé le site de référence All About Photo dont elle est curatrice, tout en continuant à travailler sur des projets personnels.

For this 12th edition of AAP Magazine, we received a record number of submissions from all over the world. The winning photographers come from 11 different countries and 4 continents.
Their work reflect the large variety black and white photography can offer. Documentary, portrait, travel, street, wildlife, abstract and fine art are all represented in the winning portfolios.
Regardless of the genre of photography, the selected projects all have different approaches to the unifying theme of black and white. Using film, analog or digital photography, deep blacks or light grays, each photographer showcases a unique point of view. The chosen work successfully incorporates the literal and metaphorical dichotomy of black and white.

The Los Angeles Center of Photography proudly presented its Second Annual Fine Art exhibition – “Singular (Point of View)” – an incredible collection of fine art photography selected by Crista Dix. 178 photographers submitted entries for the exhibition, representing over 890 works of art. Of these, 50 images were chosen from 39 different artists for the show, with an additional 52 images for an online gallery. This is annual call for entry exhibition in the spring of each year.

After practicing civil rights and environmental law for over twenty years, Jon Edwards has spent the last six years photographing inhabitants of islands and coastal areas of Maine. These individuals live simply, and demonstrate dignity and tenacity when, by choice or lack of opportunity, they are forced to survive under either the harsh economics or isolation of island living, or an increasingly difficult traditional way of life.
