Exhibition : « The Order of Things » from The Walther Collection
The Walther Collection presents "The Order of Things: Photography from The Walther Collection", a major exhibition exploring how the organization of photographs into systematic sequences or typologies has affected modern visual culture. The Order of Things investigates the production and uses of serial portraiture, conceptual structures, vernacular imagery, and time-based performance in photography from the 1880s to the present, bringing together works by artists from Europe, Africa, Asia, and North America. Curated by Brian Wallis, former Chief Curator at the International Center of Photography in New York, the exhibition will be accompanied by a catalogue published by Steidl/The Walther Collection.

ARS 11 Will Change Your Perceptions about Africa and Contemporary Art
The ARS 11 exhibition in Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in Helsinki investigates Africa in contemporary art. The exhibition features some 300 works by a total of 30 artists. The Kiasma Theatre also has a programme of ARS events and performances. In addition to artists living in Africa, the show also features others who live outside the continent, artists of African descent as well as Western artists who address African issues in their work.
The themes of the exhibition, such as migration, environmental problems and urban life are global, issues that affect us all. The Centre for Contemporary Art, Lagos presents Moments of Beauty, a groundbreaking exhibition of work by the Nigerian artist J.D. 'Okhai Ojeikere. Occasionally elegiac, but invariably elegant, the photographs in this exhibition reflect what the artist deems as "moments of beauty," referring to the ebullience of Nigerian life engendered by independence and decolonisation. The exhibition highlights the breadth and depth of Ojeikere's practice, chronicling his experiences as a visual artist and commercial photographer by presenting works that cover a range of subjects including architecture, education, fashion, social life and cultural festivals.
