Young Gallery has the pleasure to present you a selection of works from Karel Fonteyne expanding a period of 40 years of photography and a preview of his new work called "Pistoleros". His actual work becomes more conceptual and abstract, questioning the human condition and the interaction with the world. Pieces of wood resembling guns were photographed and collected like it would concern an investigation and a proof of crime. The combination of text and image resulted in a poetical and an unexpected outcome. "Pistoleros" is a cynical wink that refers to political events, dictators and victims. These photographs don't show the cruelty, they confront ourself with our own responsability and the choice we can make.
