“I grew up on a farm. The land was dedicated to prunes, and so our livelihood depended on trees. My grandfather and father were religious in their respect for them, the thought being that their fruit would provide us with eternal life. Our house was in the middle of the orchard, so our only close neighbors were our trees. If we took care of them they would take care of us. This show is dedicated to them”.
