The Meeting Place, FotoFest's portfolio review program for photographers, is one of the largest programs of its kind in the world. It is one of the Biennial's most important and popular programs. The twelve-day Meeting Place presents an unparalleled opportunity for photographic artists to have their work critiqued by some of the most important people in the field of photography--museum curators, gallery owners, magazine editors, representatives of photography agencies, collectors and publishers from around the world. Photographers can register for 4 or 6 days and have one-on-one reviews with experts who can assist with exhibitions, publications and provide guidance for future career development. Reviewers at the Meeting Place include curators from Los Angeles' J. Paul Getty Museum, and the Los Angeles County Museum; San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; Philadelphia Museum of Art; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston; George Eastman House; Center for Photography at Woodstock; Light Work in Syracuse, N.Y.; the Musée de la Photographie in Charleroi, Belgium; and Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center. Editors come from Aperture, fotoMAGAZINE, European Photography, PHOTONEWS, Leica World Magazine. Publishers have come from Aperture Foundation, Chronicle Books, Dewi Lewis Publishing, Phaidon Press; Verve Editions, and ZoneZero.
