Timothy Fadek est né à New York en 1965 et vit actuellement à Manhattan. Pendant plus de six ans, il est publicitaire à New York et à Francfort, avant de se consacrer à la photographie en 1998. Avec le temps, il a trouvé le moyen d'utiliser la photo pour faire des reportages sur les sujets qui lui tenaient à cœur. Ce qu'il développe est une passion : la réalité que l'œil peut voir devient moins intéressante que créer des images. Il a travaillé dans plus de 25 pays. Fasciné par les délabrements urbains, il décide d'aller à Detroit photographier les monuments, les structures et les immeubles abandonnés. Son engagement personnel le mène à couvrir plusieurs conflits, de l'Irak à Haïti. Ses reportages sont publiés dans des centaines de magazines et exposés dans de grandes galeries. Il est représenté par Meo Represents et Polaris Image.

Photographer Timothy Fadek has worked in more than 25 countries and has faced personal risk in order to bring attention to major world events such as the wars in Iraq, Lebanon, Kosovo, Macedonia, Israel and the Palestinian Territories, the civil uprising in Haiti and the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center. His photographic reporting has been published in hundreds of magazines worldwide and have been exhibited in major galleries. He has been a contributor to several photo books on the World Trade Center attack and the war in Iraq. Named a "Hero of Photography" by American Photo magazine in 2007, Fadek has received awards and recognition from Pictures of the Year (POYi), National Press Photographers Association (NPPA), Communication Arts, American Photography, among others. Fadek has spoken at many organizations and universities, and has served as an adjunct professor at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism. He is represented by Polaris Images and Meo Represents, and currently lives in Manhattan.
