The AIPAD Photography Show New York, will be presented by the Association of International Photography Art Dealers (AIPAD) from March 17 through 20, 2011. More than 75 of the world’s leading fine art photography galleries will present a wide range of museum-quality work including contemporary, modern, and 19th century photographs, as well as photo-based art, video, and new media, at the Park Avenue Armory in New York City. The 31st edition of The AIPAD Photography Show New York will open with a Gala Preview on March 16 to benefit the John Szarkowski Fund, an endowment for photography acquisitions at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City. La galerie Polka est heureuse de présenter, pour la première fois en France, l’exposition monographique « Horizons », consacrée à l’artiste anglo-américain Sze Tsung Nicolas Leong. Tirées par l’artiste lui-même, les épreuves couleurs de cet accrochage sont reliées entre-elles par le même « horizon ». Une ligne circulaire, continue et homogène qui se dévoile autour du spectateur à hauteur du regard.
Depuis plus de quinze ans, Sze Tsung Nicolas Leong travaille sur le paysage. Les endroits qu’il a visités et photographiés...
Begun in 2002, Sze Tsung Leong’s new body of work, “Horizons,” depicts thin bands of landscapes from a range of locations throughout the world: from a steel mill in Inner Mongolia to a 19th-century square in central Lisbon, from the California Aqueduct in Antelope Valley to the Seine in Paris.
These landscapes are connected by a common horizon and are meant to be combined: with the horizon in the same place in each frame, the images can be viewed next to each other, creating a spatial continuum from geographically distant locations. Yossi Milo Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition of color photographs by Sze Tsung Leong from the series History Images. The exhibition will open on Thursday, April 6, and close on Saturday, May 6, with a reception for the artist on Thursday, April 6, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. This will be Mr. Leong's first solo exhibition at the gallery.
Since 2002, Sze Tsung Leong has been photographing the dramatic urban changes that have transformed the cities of China—revealing a process that ranges from the destruction of traditional neighborhoods, which once formed the unique identities of China's cities, to the mass construction of new urban environments.
