Ralf Tooten est né en 1958 à Duisburg, en Allemagne. Il vit et travaille en Thaïlande.
Ralf se décrit comme étant "fasciné par l'esthétique des rencontres visuelles et le rayonnement personnel des êtres humains" et ses missions comprennent notamment des portraits pour de grands magazines. Ses photographies lui ont valu de nombreuses récompenses, dont le prix Polaroïd des Arts Plastiques à Londres en 1996 et la distinguée récompense Hasselblad Master à Goteborg en Suède en 2003.

R.C.A. RATCHABURI CONSTRUCTION WORKER OPEN AIR PORTRAITS The R.C.A. (Ratchaburi Construction Worker Open Air) exhibition is the continuation of the series of portraits (A.W.C) from 2007-2010. It is a collaboration between photographer Ralf Tooten and the artist and curator Wasinburee Supanichvoraparch. Hundreds of workers were photographed in the city of Ratchaburi from the province of the same name. This sequel is simultaneously shifting the series to a specific site/region, not only in terms of the resulting photographic portraits but also in terms of presentation.
