Étienne Carjat , né à Fareins ( Ain ) le 28 mars 1828 et mort à Paris le 9 mars 1906 , est un photographe , journaliste , caricaturiste et poète français . Dans Rimbaud le fils , Pierre Michon indique qu'Étienne Carjat provient d'une famille modeste, que sa mère avait une loge de concierge au fond d'une cour, qu'il s'est marié et a eu une fille, qu'il est peintre, poète et homme de théâtre, et qu'il est l'ami de Baudelaire.En 1841, il a 13 ans et découvre le dessin grâce à monsieur Cartier, fabricant de soieries où il est placé comme apprenti, sous les ordres du dessinateur, monsieur Henry ; il y reste 3 ans. En 1858, il apprend le métier de la photographie auprès de Pierre Petit . En 1861, il s'installe dans son propre atelier au numéro 56 de la rue Laffitte �

Alejandra Carles-Tolra is a Spanish photographer from Barcelona currently living in London. Her work examines the relationship between individual and group identity, and how the latter shapes the former. Questions regarding what defines it, the role surroundings play and the threshold between individual and group identity drive and inform her work as an artist. Her work has been published and exhibited internationally, most recently at CNN, The Huffington Post, Gup Magazine, World Photography Organization, Cosmopolitan, Flash Forward Festival, and Valid Foto BCN Gallery. She was a finalist for the 2016 Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition at the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, and has received several awards and mentions such as 21 New & Emerging Photographers by Lens Culture
