This spring: the Kyotographie's first edition
Kyotographie is a novel international photography festival which brings kyoto City, a city of history, together with photography, an art form which records history as well as sketches the future. This festival aims at triggering new synergies and will explore the contemporary trends of this city of arts and culture through the art medium of photography.

Nicolas Bouvier (1929-1998) avait une formidable et profonde intelligence d’un monde qui est celui du pèlerin, du flâneur ou du nomade, puis de l’érudit qui sait par l’écriture et l’image en transcrire la philosophie, après avoir cherché dans l’autre un reflet de lui-même. Fasciné par le voyage, il prépare dès le début des années cinquante un périple qui lui fera parcourir en voiture la route de l’Orient, de Genève à Ceylan, en passant notamment par la Yougoslavie, la Macédoine, la Turquie, l’Iran, l’Afghanistan et l’Inde. Il poursuivra ensuite sa quête jusqu’au Japon, où il séjournera régulièrement.
