La galerie a le plaisir de présenter une exposition d'œuvres récentes de Jorge Molder, Observations dans le noir. Jorge Molder est l’un des artistes portugais les plus singuliers de sa génération. Depuis les années 70, il développe un travail photographique entre rêve et méta-réalité. Il interroge les tréfonds de la mémoire à travers des mises en scène de lui-même où l'on retrouve sous-jacentes certaines références cinématographiques, littéraires, picturales et philosophiques. Il joue avec lui-même dans ses images comme s'il cherchait à transcender sa propre identité pour pointer du doigt l'inquiétan... - Exposition
Interpretation of dreams - Jorge Molder
The photography of the Portuguese artist Jorge Molder evokes a world in which memories are interwoven with apparent recognition and dream with meta-reality. His exhibition at the Calouste Gulbenkian Cultural Centre in Paris shows three sequences of his work: The Small World (2000), You Don't Have To Tell Me Anything (2006/2007) and his recent the interpretation of dreams, on show for the first time.
Jorge Molder often uses his own image, transforming it to suggest atmospheres that transcend the everyday environment of his life, and staging venues in which people he imagines can appear - his doubles, no doubt, different from him, yet not completely foreign to him.
