Parmi plus de 600 candidatures, le photographe Christian Patterson a su tirer son épingle du jeu avec le projet « Cong So » en remportant le premier prix du Grand Prix international de photographie de Vevey, décerné par un jury international présidé par l'artiste James Casebere. Le 5ème numéro de Tell Mum Everything Is Ok commence par un aveu de Frédéric Pierre et Camille Françoise (les initiales de FP & CF); après cinq numéros, des circuits et des habitudes se sont créées. Difficile aujourd'hui de se tenir à la règle des débuts ; travailler sur la base de libre propositions.
La petite revue connait effectivement le succès ; après un appel à candidatures sur Flickr qui réunit près de 2000 photos, le premier numéro (septembre 2009) est tiré à 150 exemplaires, et se retrouve épuisé en 5 jours. CHRISTIAN PATTERSON gained international critical acclaim five years ago for his series “Redheaded Peckerwood”. The book received multiple awards, the Rencontres d’Arles Book Author Award 2012 amongst others. A year later, in 2013, Christian Patterson received the prestigious Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship.
In his new work titled "Bottom of the Lake", Christian Patterson revisits his hometown of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin (French for "Bottom of the Lake") and weaves together visual threads related to the town's iconography, climate and culture. A 1973 telephone book from Fond du Lac serves as leitmotif. Le Centre Photographique d'Ile-de-France accueille du 5 octobre au 14 décembre 2014 un exposition collective intitulée « La Photographie performe - The Body and the Archive », dont le commissariat est assuré par Chantal Pontbriand (Pontbriand W.O.R.K.S.) et le collectif AGENCY. Ce projet se déclinera sous plusieurs formes (photographies, installations, vidéos et performances), et réunira des artistes de différentes régions du monde tels que : Éric Baudelaire, Mohamed Bourouissa, Gohar Dashti, Simon Fujiwara, Joachim Koester, I-Chen Kuo, Uriel Orlow,et Christian Patterson.

In Christian Patterson’s largest solo museum show to date, the artist takes as his subject the killing spree of 19-year-old Charles Starkweather. In January 1958, Starkweather murdered 11 people, including his 14-year-old girlfriend Caril Ann Fugate’s entire family. The two teenagers then drove across the Great Plains of Nebraska and were captured in Wyoming on January 29th, 1958. Over the course of five winters, Patterson retraced the teenagers’ path, revisiting places of significance to the story, combing through various archives, interviewing people whose lives were impacted by the murders and, incredibly, uncovering evidence that had gone unnoticed for fifty years.
