Carlo Bevilacqua, photographer and documentary film director, born in Palermo, Sicily in 1961. Mention of Honour in the International Photographic Awards 2008 and 2009 , in America Photo 2008, in Tau Visual Professional Prize for Creativity 2008, winner of the HF Prize in SI Fest Savignano Immagini , his career has spanned more than twenty years, alternating photography and direction of documentaries and video clips. He started taking pictures in Palermo in the 80's, originally focusing on societal and anthropological photographic studies. He decided to move to Paris and then Milan where he took photography courses at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED).
He then started working with advertising and public relations agencies and magazines creating photography spreads, advertising campaigns, videos and films for major Italian and international companies.
He has directed various pieces including, together with francesco Di Loreto, Little Red Robin Hood - a biographic documentary about Robert Wyatt, Soft Machine's singer and drummer, with Elvis Costello, Brian Eno, Paul Weller and Nick Mason - and various video clips.
With his works has attended in numerous films and photo festival.
He started working with the Marka Photo agency in 1995. In 1998, together with Enrico Grisanti, he founded XTV Productions, a production company specialized in photography and video services for advertising, editorial and corporate communications. The next year he developed one of the first Italian web TV channels, XTV Webchannel.

A documentary film on Robert Wyatt - singer, drummer and founding member of The Soft Machine, the legendary band in the international musical arena between the late Sixties and early Seventies who inspired the development of the made-in-Canterbury jazzy rock. A reserved artist and a melancholy poet of sound, yet disenchanted and ironical at the same time, he is a unique master in the contemporary musical scene. A 60-minute documentary film about the life of Moira Orfei , the most famous Italian Circus Star.By Moira's own words and her husband's narrative tale ,this documentary film reveals the secrets behind the scene of Moira Orfei's 40-year-long success. A colourful Pop fresco in which, along with cuts of the movies she shot with Mastroianni, Gassman,Totò directed by Monicelli or Germi, images and dreamlike «chapiteau» world are mixed. Somewhat of a gigantic dream-machine that moves along with the Circus' incessant travelling from place to place.
