REGENERATION ² - photographies de demain à Miami
Within the framework of the American tour managed by the Musée de l’Elysée in collaboration with the Aperture Foundation, New York, « reGeneration2 – Tomorrow’s Photographers Today » is presented at the Centre Gallery, Miami Dade College, in Miami.
What are young photographers up to in the twenty-first century? How do they see the world? How much do they respect, build on, or reject tradition? As the digital revolution continues its relentless advance, demolishing longstanding practices in every domain of our field, curiosity builds as to how the new generation of photographers will react. “Don't turn around!” Romanian Contemporary Photography
Coming from much larger “families” of visual research – for instance series as they do investigating the confines of reality and representation – the works in the exhibition “Don’t turn around!” reflect the same principle of incisiveness.
The analytical ability to section the visual field with irony and wit shows the same attitude as the rest of Romanian contemporary art, be it a painting, object, installation or video – despite the fact that some of the photographers have more of a photojournalistic experience.

Issues de différents champs de recherche et d’investigation sur la frontière entre représentation et réalité, les photographies de “Ne tourne pas la tête !” relèvent d’un dénominateur commun : une attitude incisive.
Cette habileté analytique à fragmenter le champ visuel avec ironie s’inscrit dans une démarche plus générale de l’art contemporain, qu’il s’agisse de peinture, d’objet, d’installation ou de vidéo. Et ce malgré le fait qu’une partie des photographes se revendique plutôt du photojournalisme.
