Expositions du 01/03/2007 au 31/03/2007 Terminé
Galerie Mamia Bretesché 48, rue Chapon 75003 Paris France
For his second exhibition at the Gallery Mamia Bretesché, Luis Moragon goes on exploring the theme "Desciudades", which he started investigating with his exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Elche, Spain, in May 2007.
In this work the city, far from appearing as a harmonious architecture, is brought back to a simple geometrical grid, to a juxtaposition of cells which may suggest either buildings or imaginary landscapes. The grid works as a synonym of imprisonment, of anonymity, or the gap between the individual and the world, inside and outside. Behind these cells/windows, all similar to one another, hide many different beings, relating to each other in many different ways.
The grid seems to divide the inner and the outside world, but also to trace possible lines of contact. It filters and focuses the viewer's gaze but also troubles it by disseminating it in so many similar places.
The works exhibited at the gallery intermingle various forms of expression (paintings and photos) which influence and complete one another.Galerie Mamia Bretesché 48, rue Chapon 75003 Paris France
