Introduced by a common friend, the singer cerhen, samuel guerrier and cosmo gonik’s collaboration was launched in an atmosphere of common creative interests, in which swirled ideas of funerary art, surrealism, and shamanism. guerrier was intrigued by gonik’s sculptural creations made from animal bone and magically beautiful scepters, symbolizing peace and protection. guerrier’s portfolios cosmoand seppuku demonstrate their collaboration. deeply moved by the roaring twenties, in cosmo, guerrier uses gonik’s acting skill to his advantage, portraying him as a silent film actor – elegant, seductive, and magical. as a subject, gonik at once transforms into a kafkaesque beetle and represents a mystic, poised with his apotropaic scepter. in seppuku, gonik’s family creations are represented in the hadron & lepton jewelry worn by léonie popo. the title seppuku (hara-kiri in japanese), evokes popo’s character, a type of madame butterfly who unfurls her underlying samurai and dragon. guerrier and gonik’s collaborations have been well received, having been featured by fashion writer diane pernet in her popular fashion blog, a shaded view on fashion and exhibited in paris.
