During the Triennial of Photography the Robert Morat Galerie presents two series by Bernhard Fuchs. Works from his series "Portraits" (1994-2001, published in 2003) and the latest work "Waldungen" (2001-2014, published in 2014). Bernhard Fuchs, born 1971 in Upper Austria, lives in Düsseldorf, but keeps returning to the rurality of his hometown for his photographic projects. Since the beginning of the 1990s he has been working on a group of photographs, focussing on people in the context of their native surroundings. The publication of the project by Edition Fotohof in 2003 brought Fuchs considerable international attention.

he following projects, especially „Straßen und Wege“ from 2009 and „Höfe“ from 2011, are dealing with the subject of „landscape“ and so does his latest work "Waldungen", documenting forestal formations and reforestations and how they insert into the motion of the landscape, in-between hills and lowlands. "Primarily", says Heinz Liesbrock of Josef Albers Museum in Bottrop: "these photographs want to document the landscape in their topicality and at the same time also make them transparent for a moment of immutability, the essence of all scenical."
