With "Along Europe", Die Photographische Sammlung/SK Stiftung Kultur is presenting a longterm photographic project by Martin Rosswog (b. 1950). Showing great personal dedication, the artist has been traveling to countries and regions across Europe since the 1980s, producing detailed views of diverse rural living conditions and lifestyles as well as characteristic portraits of the local people.

Given the abundance and high aesthetic quality of these objective and yet highly empathetic images, systematically captured by Rosswog with medium-format and large-format cameras, viewers can immerse themselves in an enormous pictorial archive and in a cosmos that brings home in a special way the cultural diversity and individual features of these regions and their inhabitants. A world comes into view that is in the throes of transformation through modern progress and globalization–a world that threatens to be swallowed up by these developments.
