From 2nd to 27th February 2015, „KITCHEN exposition” – annual international exhibition of photography will be presented in European Union House (Aspazijas bulvāris 28) in Riga (Latvia). Intrigue is hiding in the fact that the exhibition is not dedicated to cookery!

However, this analogy to kitchen is not accidental. ”Concept of the exhibition „KITCHEN exposition” resembles what normally goes on in kitchen,” says curator of the exhibition Ramona Apalko, ”the exhibition combines various styles of photography... and will make boiling even blood of those who are indifferent to art”.

Just like we mix various ingredients in kitchen, the exhibition representing new artists from different countries, will combine several styles and concepts to create a unique cocktail of ideas, inspirations and visual images.

KITCHEN exposition” was established by the French association “Les Tresses” in Nice. Every year the exhibition visits different European cities. The first exhibition was held in Nice (France). Later, it was presented in Lille (France) and Kiev (Ukraine). Although, participants change year by year, the intention of organizers to surprise and create new ideas remains unchangeable.

Riga will become the fourth city holding „KITCHEN exposition”. This time, such participants as Asya Belova from Riga, Jesse Boyd Reid from Perth, Puzzleman Leung from Macao and Marco Miraglia from Paris will be presented here.

The exhibition shall „brighten” cultural life of the capital of Latvia, which might have been already toned down till February. „KITCHEN exposition” will continue the parade of exciting projects in Riga.
