Marjaana Kella's works are based on an attempt to cut off the relationship between the photograph and the visible reality. She is also interested in questions like, What is seeing and perceiving? For example, the new work "Light" is an attempt to capture light as such, without a tangible object. We seldom come to think how the local colours are only secondary colours, reflections of colour within light. Local colours pick out the colours they represent from light, as in the series "Grey", in which the subject (flowers) or the lack of subject or colour is presented as elements of equal weight.
The photographs can also be seen as musical elements or themes, when the object is no longer the primary proof of itself.Van Zoetendaal Keizersgracht 488 1017 EH Amsterdam Pays-Bas
