Mírame, Lima is the collaborative project of photographers Jaime Travezán and Morgana Vargas Llosa with art director David Tortora. The series is comprised of 50 family portraits that celebrate the cultural diversity found in Lima, the Peruvian capital. These self-selected groups come from a variety of backgrounds, sometimes expanding upon the typical nuclear-family model to include close friends and coworkers. Each family posed for the camera, using objects that are particularly meaningful to tell their unique story. In turn, the artists have photographed and digitally composed playful and imaginative scenes that invite the viewer to experience something new.Blue sky Gallery 122 NW 8th Avenue, Portland 97209 Oregon États-Unis
“We believe in the necessity to open a dialogue and to awaken curiosity within people about each other’s diversity. The project is an invitation to explore without prejudice and stroll around a plural city, whose houses and streets are a mirror of the entire world.”
