Production: FABRICA Leonie Purchas (1978) is a young photographer who persuaded a family to allow her to stay with them and take photos of them; this because it is only observing from within the private rituals and unconventional dynamics binding people that is becomes possible to portray how they protect, support and love one another. The family is constantly transformed to adapt or resist society's emergencies such as immigration, poverty, conformism and sexuality. The family is the driving force in our lives, however or with whoever one might live, even for those sharing a home with three wives or those spending their nights outdoors with their flocks. As Jane Austin said: "No one can say they know the problems of an individual in that family unless they have lived with a family. After her work with a polygamous family living in the suburbs of Paris, she created the diary of a Roman family especially for this Festival.
