Thursday, June 5th, 2014 at 19 pm at Officine Fotografiche, Rome is inaugurated the 10th edition of FotoLeggendo. Opens the photo-festival the exhibition Il diario di Felix by Emiliano Mancuso curated by Renata Ferri , taken from a documentary project filmed by Emiliano at Casa Felix, the family-home for troubled teen, in Torrespaccata in Rome.
It continues Friday, June 6 at ISA Institute, with the opening of 11 of the 15 shows scheduled for this 10th edition of Fotoleggendo, made with the support of the City of Rome - Department of Culture Creativity and Artistic Promotion - Department of Culture and with the support of the Regional Council of Lazio and Rome City Hall VIII, organized and produced by Officine Fotografiche Roma.
It's been 10 years since the "laboratories" of Officine Fotografiche, one of the reference points for the promotion of photographic culture in Italy, started FotoLeggendo Festival, the event that each year marks the boundaries of contemporary photography, spreading and by disseminating languages , contrasts and visions. A review that has always looked to the world inquiring, through a variety of topics, the evolution of the contemporary visual language :
For many years we have accompanied FotoLeggendo with this slogan : " between passion and profession". Today, as we celebrate its tenth year even more this phrase finds its strength. The passion of its members that have always animated this event and the resourcefulness of its organizers . The professionalism of those who in recent years have entered the world of Workshops and who year after year have raised this event. ( Emilio D' Itri director and founder of Officine Fotografiche).
Also this year there are many exhibitions, located in different locations in the capital, along with the portfolio readings, prizes, meetings, screenings and many events.
Among the exhibitions in the ISA include: Alvaro Deprit with his Al- Ándalus; the work of the Chinese poet - photographer Ren Hang; Tanya Habjouqa, winner of the World Press Photo with the work Occupied Pleasures, a new exhibition on leisure time in the Occupied Territories and Gaza. And the award-winning Jason Eskenazi with his original work Double Zero, a tribute to the film.
Of great importance is this year the exhibition from the twinning of Fotoleggendo with the Festival Les Boutographies - photographiques Rencontres de Montpellier : Days of nights, nights of day of Russian photographer Elena Chernyshova winner of World Press Photo 2014.
Always at ISA there will be a new exhibition: Dummy Award 2013. Directly from Photobook Festival in Kassel top 50 dummy ( photographic books ever published ) selected by an international jury.
Among the events on 11th and 12th of June two days of study on documentary photography and photojournalism by Punti di svista . Guest of honor is the Magnum photographer Micha Bar-Am .
In addition three days of screenings of videos and documentaries at the Teatro Ambra Garbatella, curated by Emiliano Mancuso, feom June 17 to 19 .
This year the curator of the main exhibition are : Tiziana Faraoni - Resp Photoeditor at Espresso magazine , also artistic director of the festival , Emilio D' Itri , Director of Offcine Fotografiche , Lina Pallotta , lecturer and photographer, Annalisa D'Angelo , curator , Marco Pinna, Italian National Geographic photo editor , Alberto Placidoli , FIAF representative .
The event every year is included in the national circuit Portfolio Italy - Grand Prix Epson - organized by FIAF , the Italian Federation of Photographic Associations , and is twinned with the Festival Les Boutographies - photographiques Rencontres de Montpellier.
