He was a staff photographer on the Chicago Sun-Times for 35 years, and won a Pulitzer prize in 1982.

The exhibition concentrates on photographs depicting life for families living in Chicago housing projects in the 1980s.

The controversial dissolution of the Sun-Times photography department earlier this year stirred up much debate
regarding the significance of photojournalism.

Daniel Blau is therefore particularly pleased to present this exhibition of works by one of the world’s most influential photojournalists as a testament to the enduring importance of this occupation.

As staff photographer at the Chicago Sun-Times, John H. White was awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1982. We will be exhibiting a range of works by this renowned photojournalist, including a series of images from the 1980s documenting social housing projects in Chicago.

Daniel Blau's gallery is particularly pleased to present this exhibition, as questions about the role of photojournalism in today's media arose with the dissolution of the entire photography department at the Chicago Sun-Times a few months ago.
