Photography, video and site-specific art. My work is situated within a critical approach to the environment, urban development and to social conditions.
A Studio in the Woods presents Isabelle Hayeur Billboard Exhibition My ongoing body of work Underworlds takes me through North America to probe various underwater environments, especially polluted ones, but also fragile and threatened ecosystems.
Working with an watertight housing that allows me to photograph submerged environments of all kinds, I dive into troubled waters of dubious, uncertain origin. At this point, I have photographed in many rivers, lakes, swamps and in the Atlantic.
During a six-week artist-in-residency "Ebb & Flow: Dialogues between art and water" at A Studio in the Woods (Tulane University), I documented some Southern Louisiana bayous and The Mississippi River.
As a final project, four photographs realized during my stay are exhibited on billboards throughout the city of New Orleans, starting from April 4, 2013. Billboards are environmentally friendly, chlorine free and will be recycled at the end of exhibition.
