From the early 1970s until his death in 1987, Andy Warhol employed a Polaroid Big Shot portrait camera to instantly capture numerous shots of sitters who would become the subjects of portrait silkscreens and paintings.
Polaroids by Andy Warhol reveals the artist's artistic process, highlighting his inclination toward serial imagery. The Polaroids displayed in this exhibition, along with approximately 100 other Polaroids and gelatin silver prints, were generously donated to the Henry by the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts in celebration of the foundation's 20th anniversary in 2008.
