Avec Gypsies, le photographe Patrick Cariou remonte le fil de la migration du peuple Rom de l'Europe de l'est à l'Europe de l'ouest en passant par le Moyen-Orient, pour finalement arriver en Inde, terre de leurs ancêtres. In very recent events, Patrick Cariou emerged in the headlines as he brought a copyright infringement suit against fellow artist Richard Prince. A federal judge ruled in favor of Cariou as Prince unlawfully appropriated images from his series, Yes Rasta (powerHouse Books, 2000) without seeking Cariou's permission or making any significant alterations...
