The ex-kindergarten in Bruzella has been converted into a space for photographic exhibitions promoted by the Rolla Foundation. The second event includes 31 vintage Ruth Hallensleben gelatin silver prints belonging to the private collection of Rosella and Philip Rolla, who wish to share their interest and passion for the photographic medium.
Ruth Hallensleben’s work is not only a poetic vision or a technical feat but a testimonial to the historical period in which she lived, 20th Century Germany. Little space is left to individualism in favor of a global vision. Each object she photographs, even when under commission, is represented in relation to a determined space, it is never a simple still life. The atmosphere of a place, a time, of a society, lives in the images of Ruth Hallensleben.
Christian Marazzi, author of the text published in the catalogue, has chosen the title Solo quello che c’era inspired by a phrase of the photographer, which testifies her adhesion to the New Objectivity.
