
The Milonoyianni hall for the arts 14 Harilaou Trikoupi St. Chania Grèce
An exhibition of visual photography, by Stelios Baklavas, is opening on Wednesday the 15th of December 2010, at the hall for the arts “Milonoyianni”, in Chania (14, Har. Trikoupi St.).
The units of the works on exhibition are titled “Bodies’ speech” (Somaton logos) and “Dance’s condemnation” (Horou Kathexis) and are focused on contemporary dance. This visual work capsizes the conformed use of photography, by remolding the images into a colorful stimulus, a monitor in one’s memory, imagination…
Stelios Baklavas was born in 1963 in Athens (Greece). He studied photography in the Stavrakos’ School, and he is member of the Chamber of Visual Arts of Greece and of the Organization of Collecting Management and Protection of Intellectual Property Rights of Photographers.
He has organized 11 personal exhibitions and he has participated in 33 collective exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki, Volos, Paris, Spain, Brussels, Ireland, Amsterdam, Italy.
He has been awarded twice by the French Museum of Photography, also, by the Institut Municipal d' Ace Cultural (Cataluna -Spain), as well as by the Gallery of St. Nickolas (Crete).
