Ellen von Unwerth, née en 1954 en Allemagne, est une photographe de renommée mondiale spécialisée dans les photos artistiques de charme. Elle fut mannequin pendant 10 ans avant de passer de l’autre côté de l’objectif et devenir ainsi photographe pour des magazines de mode, comme Vogue, Vanity Fair, Interview, The Face, Arena et I-D. Elle est aussi l’auteur de livres de photographies et a participé à l’élaboration de clips musicaux.

Ellen von Unwerth (born ~1954 in Germany) is a photographer and
director, specializing in erotic femininity. She worked as a fashion
model for ten years herself before moving behind the camera, and now
takes fashion, editorial, and advertising photographs.
She has been published in top magazines like Vogue, Vanity Fair,
Interview , The Face, Arena , L'Uomo Vogue and ID , and has published
several books of photography. She won first prize at the International
Festival of Fashion Photography in 1991.
Unwerth has also directed short films for fashion designers, and music
videos for Duran Duran, Salt-N-Pepa, and more.

Following a passionate kickoff in Los Angeles, the Munich Gallery IMMAGIS will open on 14 September 2017 the exhibition HEIMAT with more than 30 works from the book of the same title by German star photographer Ellen von Unwerth (*1954). Right in time for Oktoberfest, von Unwerth invites viewers on a photographic journey through her childhood homeland of Bavaria.
