« My name is Sebastian Sardi, born 1983 in Sweden, both my parents are immigrants from Hungary (more about this you can read in the foreword of the book). When I was 16 my father gave me an old russian camera as a gift and that started my interest in photography. I started taking photography classes in Stockholm at a nightschool called "Folkuniversitetet" (the peoples university). During two years of evening studies (2005-2006) I did the analogue courses and I was in the last class, the last generation, to learns analogue photography in swedish photography schools. Due to the digital camera revolution the school sold all darkroom equipment in 2006. I continued my education at "Kulturama" in Stockholm and later I moved to Copenhagen, Denmark to attend Fatamorgana the danish school of art photography. »
En juin 2012 la maison d'édition Idras Publishing et le photographe Sebastian Sardi publient Cirkusz, qu'ils éditent en 1000 exemplaires. Ils ont fait le choix d'un petit format (138 x 144 x 20mm) « to suit the accompany of any travelling circus group » ( pour pouvoir accompagner n'importe quel cirque itinérant dans ses voyages), explique l'artiste. La publication de ce livre a été rendu possible grâce aux subventions de diverses organisations culturelles suédoises.
