Paul Hansen is a photojournalist based in Stockholm, Sweden. As a staff photographer for the daily newspaper Dagens Nyheter his assignments and self-initiated projects, take him all over the world – as well as just around the corner. In working with multimedia and by also writing his own reportages Paul assume a big journalistic responsibility to great acclaim by his newspapers readership. In covering events whether it is in Haiti, Bosnia, Afghanistan - or back home in Sweden there is always one common denominator that link his work together; empathy. His visual storytelling has, among many domestic and international prizes and honors, also awarded him the title “Photographer of the Year” in Sweden six times and “Photographer of the year Newspapers” in POYi 2010.

The 2013 World Press Photo Exhibition
This traveling exhibition, unique in its kind, is the result of a worldwide annual contest on press photography. Each year, an independent international jury, consisting of 19 members, judges the entries in nine different categories, submitted by photojournalists, agencies, newspapers and magazines from all corners of the world. The 56th annual competition attracted 5,666 photographers from 124 countries, and in total 103,481 images were entered in the contest.
The World Press Photo exhibition will be first on display in ‘De Oude Kerk’ in Amsterdam and will then tour around the world.
