Monica de Miranda lives and works in Lisbon and London, is an artist, producer, researcher and educator. Her art is of a participatory and collaborative nature. She usually uses objects and creates work and projects that are about experiences and research, to explore themes around personal geographies and urban archaeology.
She has a degree in Fine Arts at Camberwell College of Arts (London, 1998) and Master of Arts and Education at the Institute of Education (London, 2001). She is currently developing her PhD at Middlesex University (London) with a scholarship from Foundation's Science and Technology.
Monica Miranda is one of the founders of Xerem cultural association and she was one of the artistic coordinators of the Triangle Network workshops in Portugal, entitled "Transient" (2012) and "Home and Abroad" (2010). Mónica was the founder of the collective artistic project Artery Arts in London (2000). She also developed several projects and initiatives and has produced and participated in several publications and artist books.
