Konstantine Kartelias is a professional photographer specialized in documentary photography and creative wedding photography. After completing his first Master's degree in Visual Communication and Media studies in Athens, he continued his studies in London with a second master's degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography awarded by UAL (University of the Arts London). The last 8 years he's been working on numerous documentaries for greek NGO's like "PRAXIS", "Medicines of the World", and "Create and Do" and has also been participating actively in exhibitions in Greece and abroad. A piece from his ongoing project "Young greeks under the economic crisis" was exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in London as part of the 2014 Taylor Wessing Portrait Photography Awards and was chosen as well in the 2014 RPS international Print Competition and the Athens Photo Festival 2015. In 2013 in Greece he was awarded in the Athens Photo Inspiration competition. Through his solo exhibition “HIV. LUSAKA/ZAMBIA” resulting from his photographic documentary located therein, he succeeded in gathering a relevant fund which was then donated to the “Mother of Mercy hospice” in Lusaka, capital of Zambia in Africa, engaged to the improvement in the living conditions of patients in terminal stages of HIV.
