Currently residing in metropolitan Detroit, Michigan, but having lived in Colorado, Oregon, and Wisconsin, I have developed an interest in the interaction between man and environment. Whether the urban decay associated with Detroit, or the mountains of the western United States, my focus has been and continues to be on the landscape. My landscapes, however, do not always reflect the idyllic scene most often portrayed by the traditional landscape photograph or painting, but ranges from serene Lake Superior sunsets to chaotic post-industrial landscapes of urban Detroit.
My editorial and commercial work, reflects my varied interests, and has included such work as industrial interiors, corporate portraits, environmental portraits, and varied location and travel photography.
All images, whether the crumbling facade of a century old mansion, or a client's industrial drill, are linked together by my devotion to photography, and each recieves the same attention to detail.

Le titre même de la série laisse présager ce qui va suivre. Abandoned Houses, un paysage désert, complètement dénué de toute présence humaine. Rapidement, le lecteur se demande quel pourrait bien être cet endroit mystique laissé à l'abandon. Puis, presque sans réfléchir, la ville de Detroit lui vient en tête. C'est en effet dans cet univers délaissé, rejeté, qu'ont été prises ces photographies de Kevin Bauman.
