Gerry Johansson (*1945) lives and works in Sweden. He studied Design at the School of Design and Crafts in Göteborg/Sweden and aftwerwards worked as graphic designer. Since the mid 1980s he is a full time freelance photographer. Johansson is cofounder of the magazines Aktuell Fotografi and Fotografiskt Album as well as the book series Aktuell fotolitteratur. His works has been shown, among other places, at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and right now the Malmö Konsthall presents his works (on display until June 15, 2014).
Galerie f5,6 is happy to present works by Gerry Johansson. On display will be photographs taken in Germany, Sweden and the United States. These countries, next to Kvidinge (Sweden), Ulan Bator (Mongolia), Pontiac (USA) and Luckenwalde (Germany) are eponymous book titles that refer to projects entirely focused on each location. Since 1998 Johansson’s books outline his photographic body of work.
