Fred Archer photographe American, 1889 - 1963

A founding member of the Los Angeles Camera Club, known for his experimental pursuits and technical virtuosity. Archer produced both unconventional and abstract images, and highly arranged theatrical photographs. Archer was also an important educator, who before starting his own school of photography, The Fred Archer School of Photography, was part of the faculty at the Art Center School of Design, His images are in the collection of the George Eastman House, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Center for Creative Photography.
