Francesca Lazzarini was born in Luxemburg in 1976. She lives and works in Rome where she graduated in Sociology from "La Sapienza" University. She recently took part in the collective exhibition, organised by Filippo Maggia and Mariella Poli, entitled "Fragments of urban life", at the Italian Institute of Culture and the City Hall Art Space, San Francisco 2005.

The tourists one meets in Rome belong to a global, homologated and noisy world; a world in which the "Homeric" journey, understood as spiritual research, tending to an individual's growth and the overcoming of human knowledge, is replaced by fixed itineraries, cleverly packaged for unaware actors in the industrial mechanisms of tourism.
