Fikret Atay - Spring Fever
Tirana Art Center is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Fikret Atay Spring Fever, curated by Fani Zguro, in collaboration with The Promenade Gallery, Vlore. Spring Fever is a video that focuses on the student demonstrations that took place in Paris in 2005 and will be presented at The Promenade Gallery space.
" I was born in Batman in 1976. I am a graduate of Dicle University Fine Arts Faculty. I live in a town where it is practically impossible to produce art. I get more pleasure from producing art in the context of the impossible than I would producing in the metropolitan context. Difficulty plus success is perhaps the starting point of the most wonderful and powerful work. Aucune cité mieux qu’Istanbul, ne pouvait refléter les transitions, transformations, bouleversements urbains et socio-économiques que subissent les métropoles aujourd’hui. Istanbul, la Ville par excellence, préfigure ainsi un nouveau projet d’apollonia : « e.cités… », consacré à la diversité culturelle européenne et plus particulièrement à la pluralité des expressions artistiques contemporaines.
