Diego Murray is a self-taught photographer whose work focuses on social issues. In this context that he develops his work; not with the intention of discussing theories already established and thoroughly discussed in academics, but focusing on an intimate and frank relationship with the human beings involved in the issues that he documents. His position comes from the personal belief that the purely theoretical discussion creates a general sense of human being, instead of highlighting the beautiful and interesting individual characteristics.
Diego Murray est un jeune photographe brésilien de 34 ans. Né à Rio de Janeiro, où il vit encore aujourd'hui, il partage son temps entre la photographie et un emploi public qui lui permet de financer ses projets. Dans sa série For the Right of Having a Home (2015), il montre la communauté d'Isidoro qui se bat et résiste pour le droit d'avoir une maison. Au milieu des constructions précaires, des routes en terre et d'un ciel toujours bleu, la vie poursuit son cours. Un quotidien de résistance, digne et lumineuse, qui méritait d'être notre Carte Blanche du mois.
