Exhibition : « Scapes »
The exhibition will feature works that all play with the notion of a scape - landscape, bodyscape or cityscape. All are themes that are prolific within photography, but for SCAPES the works chosen play with these common motifs. We're made unsure of what we're precisely looking at, making it all the more fascinating.

SCAPE: a combining form extracted from landscape, with the meaning “an extensive view, scenery,” or “a picture or representation” of such a view, as specified by the initial element: even moonscape.

Exhibition : « SEISUI » by Casper Faassen
On Friday May 8th Kahmann Gallery opened the new exhibition SEISUI by photographer and painter Casper Faassen. We'd like to thank everyone for making this a beautiful event. SEISUI features new works in which photography and painting techniques are combined. Faassen adds an extra dimension to his works. His photographs are built up like paintings, with different imaginary and physical layers, giving the viewer a feeling of distance and at the same time a voyeuristic presence. Stop by to have a look at these beautiful works.

Exhibition : Casper Faassen at the Kahmann Gallery
The photographer and painter Casper Faassen (Leidschendam,1975) will show 12 new photographic works at Kahmann Gallery this spring under the title SEISUI.
Roughly translated, the Japanese titel Seisui means purity. However, Seisui also stands for the contrast between prosperity and decay; a returning theme in the work of Faassen.
The influence of Japanese print art is clear in de new series. Not only the subjects, but in particular the appearance and the handling of the works shows this. The recurring theme of decay in Faassens work is especially visible within the handling of materials in this series. Besides this theme, stillness and beauty are two other central motives frequently used by Faassen.
By combining photography with techniques used by painters, Faassen adds an extra dimension to his works. His photog... - Exposition

STILLLIFE - Vanitas in Photography
In the early days of photography, exposure times were very long, making static objects the ideal subject matter for the pioneers of the medium. However, as the technology developed, the fascination for capturing the still life has remained. While a still life can look deceptively simple, it is one of the most difficult types of art for a photographer to achieve. It requires a keen sense of lighting, as well as great compositional skills. The true test of a great artist thus lies in the creation of a still life.
In this exhibition Kahmann Gallery will show a selection of present-day still life photography by eight renowned artists. Rutger ten Broeke, Linelle Deunk, Casper Faassen, Lonneke van der Palen, Paul den Hollander, Carla van de Puttelaar, Jeroen Toirkens and Lorenzo Vitturi will all present their interpretation...
