In July 2011, Australian photographer Jesse Marlow was flown to London to be officially awarded first prize for the inaugural International Street Photography Award. His work embodies the spirit of street photography and his images echo the festival's definition perfectly:

Marlow and twelve finalists were exhibited alongside the first UK exhibition of Vivian Maier throughout the month of July at the stunning German Gymnasium in King's Cross in London. The Observer featured the Vivian Maier exhibition in the top 10 UK photography exhibitions of 2011.
